manic MANI MONDAY: TRIBAL NAILS

Paint one coat on your nails. I used a metallic purple.

Cut strips of tape. The width of these are about 1/4 of the width of my fingernail.

Put two pieces of tape on each nail so there are two open spaces on your nail. Make sure the tape is attached to your nail very well so you get a sharp line in the end. (I use packing tape.)

Paint one color in one of the spaces and another in the other space. Pull the tape off immediately after painting, before you move on to another nail. Repeat for each nail.

Let dry completely. 

Place a piece of chevron tape toward to middle of the nail and a piece of regular tape on the tip of your nail. To create chevron tape I used zig zag scissors and cut little strips on painter's tape- I used frog tape.

Paint over the whole nail with black nail polish and remove the tape quickly. Do one nail at a time.

I never worry about what I get on my skin because I always clean up my nails with nail polish remover and a q-tip.

I took acrylic paint in yellow and white and used a pencil tip to line the top of the black sections on the nails. After you clean up the edges of your nails, finish with a top coat and done!

P.S. I always paint my right hand first because it takes longer and I have the most patience when I first start.
